This morning I made the possibly ill-advised decision to bike to work in the rain. While wearing jeans. I not only underestimated the heaviness of the rainfall, but also the amount of comfort we take from wearing dry jeans. The first three hours of my morning were the definition of uncomfortable. And then, wouldn't you know it, that darn groundhog saw his shadow and predicted MORE winter (which, honestly, is fairly obvious if you've been outside lately).

So, in my quest to enjoy at least part of this miserable season (even if it is the shortest month), I think this beautiful soup is today's answer. With some warm garlic rolls, a glass of wine, a big blanket, and The Godfather (yes, I'm finally going to watch The Godfather), it seems I may be able to save this damp Tuesday from the land of wasted winter days.
